Position Overview We are seeking a Dog Trainer/Customer Service Associate to join our team. This hybrid role combines hands-on dog training with front desk responsibilities, making you the face of our business. You’ll welcome clients and their furry companions, lead training sessions, and ensure smooth daily operations while providing exceptional customer service. This is not the role for someone who is afraid to talk to people—strong communication skills and an outgoing personality are essential. You’ll be teaching humans as much as dogs, so you must enjoy working with people just as much as their pets. Attention to detail and comfort with sales are also key to thriving in this role.
Key Responsibilities Dog Training :
Lead group and private training sessions using positive reinforcement techniques. Oversee playgroups and social events to ensure a safe and fun environment for dogs and their owners.
Customer Service :
Warmly greet clients and their dogs upon arrival. Provide detailed information about our training programs, services, and retail products. Assist with sales of retail merchandise and training packages. Process payments and handle point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Administrative Tasks :
Schedule and manage training appointments. Answer phone calls and respond to email inquiries. Follow up with clients regarding their training experience. Support trainers with administrative tasks as needed.
Facility Maintenance :
Help maintain a clean and organized training facility and reception area. Distribute unlimited pets, scratches, and belly rubs to our furry clients!
What We’re Looking For Required:
Exceptional people skills with the ability to teach and connect with clients. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Outgoing personality with confidence in talking to people and making sales. Previous experience in customer service, sales, or a related field. Basic computer proficiency (e.g., scheduling software, POS systems).
Preferred :
Experience in dog training or related fields (e.g., vet assisting, grooming, pet care). Background in sales with a proven ability to meet targets.
Bonus Points :
Passion for working with rescue dogs and supporting local rescue organizations. Confidence in making outbound calls to warm sales leads.
