This dual role offers a unique opportunity to combine exercise, outdoor adventures, and professional canine care while ensuring the safety and happiness of our pack as one of our Drivers. Position Overview This role is ideal for those seeking a full-time role with our company or looking for supplemental income and a structured outdoor routine. You’ll be responsible for driving the company vehicles, managing pickup/drop-off with one of our support handlers, and hiking dogs as part of a team while maintaining professional conduct and adhering to safety protocols throughout the day. Responsibilities Dog Hiking and Pack Management Conduct structured, engaging group walks in Georgia’s scenic parks and trails. Manage micro packs (3:1 hiking ratio) ensuring safety and calmness during hikes. Utilize proper tools and equipment in the vehicles and on the trail. Follow the company safety protocols and observe trail safety and etiquette, such as maintaining distance from other handlers and avoiding interactions with strangers or off-leash dogs. Respond to emergencies promptly and escalate issues when necessary. Driving and Transportation Safely transport dogs to and from client homes and hike locations. Follow established routes, ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs, and communicate ETAs to clients per company guidelines. Prepare vehicles for hikes by restocking supplies, cleaning crates, and ensuring readiness for the next trip. Maintain vehicle safety, including proper use of seatbelts, crates, and heat/air conditioning to ensure the dogs’ comfort during transit. Professional Conduct Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients, ensuring their privacy and trust. Abide by non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements, especially when working with high-profile clients. Report any client concerns, complaints, or incidents to management immediately. Conduct yourself professionally and safely during transport with respectful driving etiquette.
Requirements Experience and Skills:
Prior experience handling dogs, especially in group settings, preferred. Clean driving record, with a commitment to safety and at least 5 years experience behind the wheel, (preferably with larger vehicles such as SUVs, vans, light trucks). Attention to detail and the ability to manage dogs of all sizes and energy levels. Strong physical stamina to handle walking/hiking for several hours per day, lifting (up to 80 pounds), and navigating various terrains. Strong communication skills to interact with clients and fellow staff and management. Patience and compassion for animals, especially those who may be anxious/excited.
Availability:
Open schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-1pm and/or 1pm-7pm. At least one shift, 4 days per week required.
Technical and Transportation Needs:
Reliable vehicle to arrive ON TIME at the company location to pick up our vehicles for transport. Smartphone for communication and navigation, picture/video capture and sharing, and platform use.
