We are seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Trainer to join our team. As a Dog Trainer, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of dogs and help them develop good behavior and obedience skills. This is a rewarding role for individuals who have a love for animals and enjoy working with them.
Duties:
- Conduct training sessions for dogs of various breeds and sizes
- Teach basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, come, and heel
- Address behavioral issues such as excessive barking, chewing, and jumping
- Create personalized training plans based on each dog’s needs and goals
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors
- Provide guidance and support to dog owners on training methods and techniques
- Monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to training plans
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions and client information
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of animal care and behavior
- Experience as a veterinary technician or in a related field is a plus
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Proficient in basic pet grooming techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with dog owners
- Familiarity with veterinary practices and procedures
- Knowledge of equine behavior is beneficial but not required
- Ability to lift heavy objects when necessary
- Experience in pet sitting or working in a kennel is advantageous
