Role:

Dog Training Elite Lowcountry is looking for a part-time Dog Trainer to join our growing team. No prior experience is required—we’ll teach you everything you need to know. This role is ideal for someone who’s serious about working hard, learning fast, and representing our company professionally in clients’ homes and the community. You’ll start by shadowing our Training Director locally to learn our methods, how we interact with clients, and how sessions are structured. Once you’ve demonstrated the right attitude, attention to detail, and commitment , you’ll attend a one-week hands-on training program at one of our partner DTE locations in Florida (travel expenses covered). After that, you’ll be ready to begin leading sessions throughout Charleston, Summerville, Mount Pleasant, and surrounding areas.

You’ll be responsible for more than just training dogs—you’ll also need to: o Record clear, thorough client session notes o Upload required paperwork o Take and upload session photos o Follow operational procedures accurately o And stay on top of the small things that make a big difference 

People Skills :

This is a client-facing role. You’ll be coaching people in their homes, often with distractions and high emotions. You need to be calm, confident, and able to clearly teach dog owners from all walks of life. If speaking with people in a one-on-one setting causes you significant stress or discomfort, this may not be the right fit. 

Punctuality & Professionalism :

Clients count on us to be on time. Showing up late—or not at all—isn’t an option. 

Team Player Mentality :

If you tend to complain, resist feedback, or commit and then back out—we’re not a match. We’re looking for someone we can trust and rely on.

Job Details:

Hours :

Up to 20 hours/week to start 

Schedule :

Sessions are typically scheduled between 10 am and 7 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 5 pm on Saturdays o You don’t need to be available every day, but you must be available to work Saturdays and within those time blocks on your working days 

Location :

This is an in-home training job. You must have reliable transportation to get to clients in Charleston, Summerville, Mount Pleasant, and nearby areas 

Fuel Card :

Provided after formal training is complete

Growth Potential :

As you gain hands-on experience—especially in service dog training—additional hours and responsibilities may be available. We’re growing fast, and we’re looking for team members who want to grow with us.

Must-Haves :

 Strong work ethic and ability to work independently  Willingness to travel for formal training (1 week in Florida, after initial local shadowing)  Reliable transportation and clean driving record  Comfort handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments  Availability during our core training hours (including Saturdays)  Ability to follow instructions, stay organized, and keep a positive, solutions- focused attitude
