We work with 4-10 dogs at a time in a home-style setting, offering structured care, enrichment, and individualized training plans. Our training is based on the principles of operant conditioning , using a balanced, science-based approach that prioritizes positive reinforcement while also addressing behavior through clear communication, structure, and appropriate consequences. We’re seeking a dependable, dog-loving person to join our team as a Part-Time Kennel Assistant . This is a hands-on role with room to grow—and a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the foundations of dog behavior and training.

Position Overview:

As a Kennel Assistant, you’ll be responsible for helping maintain a clean, safe, and enriching environment for the dogs in our care. Depending on your experience, you may also support structured socialization sessions, enrichment activities, and assist in basic training tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize kennels, crates, and play areas Feed and provide water to dogs based on schedule and needs Monitor 2-4 dog playgroups for safe socialization Rotate dogs for potty breaks, exercise, or rest Assist trainers during enrichment or training routines as needed Report behavioral observations or concerns to the lead trainer

Pay Tiers:

Beginner (No Experience): $12-$13/hr Ideal for someone dependable, enthusiastic, and willing to learn Full training provided; great for someone looking to get started in animal care Experienced (1+ years in kennel, dog daycare, shelter, vet office, or training): $14-$16/hr Must be comfortable handling multiple dogs, supervising play safely, and following detailed routines

Ideal Candidate:

Loves dogs and is comfortable with various breeds and sizes Can stay calm, focused, and upbeat in a dynamic setting Shows strong communication skills and reliability Wants to grow their knowledge of dog training and behavior Has flexible availability, including weekends and holidays if needed Must have reliable transportation Must pass a background check prior to hiring
