Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dog Trainer to join our team. As a Dog Trainer, you will be responsible for providing training and behavior modification services to dogs of various breeds and temperaments. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of both dogs and their owners.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs, focusing on obedience, socialization, and behavior modification using force free methods and positive reinforcement.
- Meet with clients to discuss new training goals, assess dogs’ behavior, and develop personalized training plans based on their specific needs.
- Practice force free and fear free training, utilize positive reinforcement techniques to teach dogs new cues and behaviors.
- Assist with the evaluation and selection of suitable training equipment.
- Educate dog owners on effective training methods and provide ongoing support and guidance.
- Monitor the progress of dogs during training sessions and adjust training plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of each dog’s progress and behavior.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs during training sessions and boarding stays.
- Maintain clean work environment in boarding and training department.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Dog Trainer or in a related role is required.
- Strong knowledge of dog behavior, breed characteristics, and training techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both dogs and their owners.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for animals.
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with confidence.
