Dog Trainer Fresh Canine Training Academy 5070 Carothers Parkway, Franklin, TN 37067 Fresh Canine is a pet dog training business serving Franklin, TN since 2014. In 2022 we opened a new Day Train facility. We serve 15-20 dogs per day. We are hiring a full time trainer or training assistant that leads into the trainer position. Main difference is ability to work with owners vs just working with dogs. We are looking for a dog trainer with a strong desire to help people. Good communication skills are required. We are willing to train the right motivated candidate. 4 day work week. Monday•Thursday. 8 am•5:30 pm. 3 day weekend, Off Holidays We are balanced trainers with a strong focus on a motivational foundation.
Requirements:
•Passion for Dogs and learning new methods of training.•A minimum of 1 year experience training dogs is ideal. Open to experience in other dog related business with a serious interest in training. Grooming, daycare, veterinary and sheltering are accepted.
Job description:
Working alongside 4-5 other trainers and training assistants to teach dogs basic pet obedience. Some leash Reactive and fearful dogs but no serious aggression. Everything is taught with food first and slowly built on to add clear expectations and boundaries. We use a variety of equipment including harnesses (puppies), gentle leaders, starmark collars, prong collars and remote collars. About 1/4 of our client use remote collars. It is not the majority of our training. We offer private lessons and group classes. Compensation is additional for teaching lesson and classes. Typically offered on the weekends and evenings. Trainer must live in or must be willing to relocated to the Middle TN area.
