Hairstylist/Barber Kevin Edward Gentleman’s Barbershop 787 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, CT 06475 Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and passionate Barber to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in traditional barbering techniques and a flair for modern styles. You will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services, creating a welcoming environment for clients, and ensuring their satisfaction with every visit. Duties Perform haircuts, shaves, and beard trims using various techniques, including straight razor methods. Consult with clients to understand their grooming needs and provide personalized recommendations. Apply color treatments and demonstrate knowledge of color theory to achieve desired results. Offer additional services such as eyelash extensions, makeup application, nail care, and hair extensions as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with health and safety regulations. Utilize salon software for appointment scheduling, client records, and retail sales management. Mentor junior barbers or apprentices to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field. Promote retail products to clients, utilizing effective sales techniques to enhance their overall experience. Experience Proven experience as a Barber or in a similar role within the beauty industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of various barbering techniques and trends, including straight razor shaving and modern styling. Familiarity with cosmetology practices is a plus, along with skills in makeup application and nail care. Experience in retail sales within a salon environment is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients quickly. A passion for mentoring others and sharing expertise in barbering techniques is highly valued.
