They must be able to effectively communicate with our students regardless of backgrounds and must have patience to work with students who need additional explanation and instruction. They must be manually dexterous to demonstrate Nail care skills to students. They must also be able to stand for long periods of time. The Nail Care Instructor must be able to appropriately assess students’ progress, to mentor and coach them and take the necessary steps to guide them efficiently to the completion of the 600 clock hour Nail Care program and placement as a Nail Care professional within the spa industry. The Instructor assumes ownership of their assigned class. Instructors are responsible for carrying out effective classroom instruction and management that will result in class participation, attendance and student retention. The primary goal of the instructor is to deliver the school’s approved curriculum. Deliver meaningful instruction daily that includes but is not limited to, demonstrations, practical applications, lectures, testing, skills assessments and review classes. Conduct detailed monthly academic reviews on student progress, classroom evaluations and student attendance. Be a valuable industry resource for your students. Monitor student attendance daily. Report any continual absenteeism to Administration in a timely basis. (More than one day absent- the student needs to be called by instructor.) Check student’s timesheets daily for accuracy and approve all credits earned Ensure all students follow the ESI Dress code Cooperate with fellow instructors and staff Begin and end class instruction on schedule Maintain classroom and clinic supplies for daily instruction Report equipment and supply needs to the School Director in a timely manner. Report any broken equipment immediately to the School Director Utilize all school and media resources at your disposal to deliver effective instruction. Maintain a current license in the state of Georgia. If your license lapses and you fail to renew your instructors by the expiry date you will receive immediate release from your instructional duties and you will no longer be employed at The Elaine Sterling Institute. Stay current with industry trends Adhere to the GA state board of cosmetology safety and sanitation procedures at all times. Be a positive role model and mentor for the students All student grievances and complaints must be handled at the classroom level. Please refer to the grievance procedure in the school’s policy and procedure manual. Motivate students to achieve 90% attendance or better Strict adherence to ESI field trip rules and regulations Enforce all rules, regulations guidelines referenced in the ESI Student Handbook Students who violate any of the student policies outlined within the student handbook must be counseledcoached and the counseling form must be placed in their student file Adhere to all ESI Employee policies
