Responsibilities You will perform a variety of technical and specialized professional and administrative duties to support the Board Executive, licensing and compliance staff, and/or other business functions for the Barber/Cosmetology program areas, including but not limited to, assisting and processing initial, renewal, or reinstatement applications. You will serve as the educational and disciplinary and compliance monitoring designee for the Barber/Cosmetology program areas. You will help prepare for disciplinary proceedings and hearings, review final orders and consent agreements, communicate and distribute disciplinary documents, and prepare letters of caution. You will track and monitor compliance following the issuance of orders and agreements and assist with initiating non-compliance procedures and/or reinstatements of license privileges. You will respond to inquiries received through walk-ins, telephone calls, e-mails, and other methods providing timely and accurate responses to the program areas’ education, disciplinary and compliance procedures. You will perform other duties such as preparing letters and reports, and performing a variety of other administrative, financial, and/or clerical duties in support of the area. Minimum and Additional Requirements Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services. (A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience). Preferred Qualifications A bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of relevant program experience. Strong customer service skills. Considerable knowledge and skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and Microsoft products. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to understand and follow routine and complex instructions. Knowledge of principles and practices of office management and general administrative functions. Other Requirements Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing. May require occasional work outside of normal office hours. May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
