Funeral Assistant Bennett Funeral Service Newton, NC 28658 Bennett Funeral Service is seeking to hire a part-time funeral assistant to assist with after-hours care and transport. Bennett Funeral Service is a local, family-owned funeral home with locations in Conover and Newton, NC. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for the care, removal, and transport of deceased from the residence or healthcare facility in accordance with defined laws and company policies Provides a compassionate and courteous first impression to bereaved families Follows proper procedure for chain-of-custody, paperwork, and identification Professional dress required, which consists of business or business casual attire Cooperates professionally with first responders and healthcare facility staff Transports to and from airports, care centers, or funeral homes Safely drives and maintains company owned vehicles Requirements for this position include, but are not limited to the following: High School graduate or GED Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with families Current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Schedule flexibility to support business needs, including weekends and nights Ability to work on-call weekends, nights, and holidays if required Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and able to push or pull up to 200 pounds
