Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer Michaud Funeral Home 32 Maple Street, Wilton, NH 03086 Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Apprentice to join our team. To apply, if you are not already a licensed apprentice in NH, you must be enrolled in or about to enroll in Mortuary School. We are looking for someone who, under the guidance of a licensed funeral director, can provide personalized and professional service in all areas of funeral arrangements, cremation ceremonies and internment to assist families following the loss of a loved one. We are also looking for a candidate who can obtain their Crematory Operator Certificate to perform cremations as needed. This is a full time position but we will work around school hours. There will be times when you are on call or need to work weekends/holidays. Job Responsibilities
- Assist in making at need and preneed funeral arrangements
- Assist with the necessary paperwork for funeral services
- Assist with the preparation the deceased for viewing and burial, including embalming, dressing, cosmetology
- Assist with transportation of the deceased from place of death
- Uphold industry regulations and standards in all practices and maintain accurate records
- Once CCO is obtained, do cremations independently. Requirements
- High School Diploma of Equivalent
- Be enrolled in Mortuary School or already have NH Apprentice License
- Ability to perform heavy lifting upwards of 75lbs
- Basic knowledge of computers and some software including Microsoft Office
- Strong customer service and phone skills
- Ability to multitask, set priorities, and problem solve
- Detail oriented Certification/Licensing
- Must meet all licensing requirements in NH
- Current Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$18.00 – $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
Schedule:
Holidays Night shift On call Overtime Weekends as needed
