Part-Time Job Summary:
The Laundry Associate is responsible for collecting, cleaning, drying, folding, and distributing laundry items, including resident personal items, linens, and facility laundry, while following proper infection control procedures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and care.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect soiled laundry from resident rooms and designated collection points Sort laundry by color, fabric type, and cleaning requirements Operate commercial washers and dryers safely and efficiently Use appropriate detergents and chemicals in accordance with facility guidelines Fold, hang, and organize clean laundry Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms and storage areas Maintain cleanliness and organization of laundry room and equipment Report maintenance issues or supply shortages to supervisor Adhere to infection control, safety, and privacy policies Treat residents’ belongings with care and respect Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and team members
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous laundry or housekeeping experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting is a plus Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods Attention to detail and good organizational skills Compassionate attitude and sensitivity to resident needs Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
