Position Summary:

The Cart Washer / Soil Sorter plays a vital role in our soil room operations. This position is responsible for unloading and sorting soiled linen, ensuring carts are cleaned and prepped, and helping maintain a safe and efficient workflow in a fast-paced production environment.

Essential Functions:

Open soiled linen bags at the breakout table and feed items onto the belt line. Remove empty soil carts from the belt area, replace with new carts, and transport empties to the designated cart area. Break open bags of soiled linen for sorting. Sort soiled items into categories based on type and size: Large items (e.g., bath blankets, flat sheets, thermals) Medium items (e.g., underpants, patient gowns, fitted sheets) Small items (e.g., towels, washcloths, hand towels, scrubs) Hoist and weigh full slings, document weight data, and hang for processing. Maintain cleanliness of carts and adhere to quality standards. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred. 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or a service-related industry preferred. Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills. Able to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and twist for long periods. Capable of lifting up to 100 pounds and pushing/pulling carts weighing up to 100 pounds. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work effectively in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
