Laundry Aide – Health and Rehab Center – Full Time 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 1110 Marshall Road, Greenwood, SC 29646 The Laundry Aide will provide all services related to the laundering activities of assigned facilities. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Handles the changing and laundering of linens, clothes, shower curtains and related items. Loads machines and uses the appropriate amount cleaning products and temperatures to ensure effective cleaning, sanitizing and drying of items. Folds all laundered items and handles all ironing and pressing as requested. Adds labels to all of the resident’s personal garments. Returns clean linens and laundered items to assigned areas. Maintains an adequate inventory of laundry supplies including maintaining and stocking linen closets. Maintains clean washing and drying machines and reports any maintenance problems to manager. Assist with housekeeping responsibilities for assigned facility. Greet and communicate with visitors in a pleasant and professional manner. Use positive and appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication techniques when communicating with other staff. Serve as a resident advocate by supporting and promoting the best interests and rights of the residents. Follow the Resident Bill of Rights. Follow HIPAA standards and regulations by maintaining confidentially of resident information. Report any signs of abuse and/or neglect.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Six months related work experience is preferred. Detail-oriented and thorough. Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents and/or guests. Consistently demonstrate ability to be proactive and take the initiative to make decisions/choices without direct supervision. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Demonstrates computer skills necessary to complete Relias training modules. Excellent customer service skills and evidence of professional manner and conduct. Ability to work cooperatively and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other team members, residents, families and volunteers. Must be able to handle the different emotions associated with residents and their families. Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously. Must have personal transportation when assigned to Independent Living.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and push heavy equipment at one-hour intervals without a rest. Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing and bending. Must be able to perform manual and sometimes strenuous labor. Must have adequate speech and hearing in order to effectively communicate Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.
