Nail Instructor Job Summary:
Long Island Beauty School in Hauppauge, NY. is seeking a licensed Nail Technician interested in teaching Nail Care to beginner students looking to obtain a New York State Nail Technician License. This is a part-time position which will traditionally be in-person.
Nail Instructor Qualifications:
Qualifications include a valid NY State Nail Technology License or NY State Cosmetology License. Minimum of 2 years of full time or 4 years part time experience working as a Nail Tech. HS Diploma or GED.
Skills/ Competencies Required:
Strong public speaking, oral presentation and time management skills Excellent verbal communication and critical-thinking skills to communicate ideas while analyzing and solving student concerns. Must be able to exude confidence, manage a classroom, and prioritize duties. Must be tech-savvy to keep up with the current teaching methods. Must be able to adapt to new teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of students. Provide students with fun, exciting demonstrations to teach practical skills. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the school’s mission statement and educational objectives, and strive to attain them. Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required. Must be reliable, and a team player.
Nail Instructor Responsibilities:
Instructor must be capable of teaching theory both in person and virtually using provided platforms and material. All Instructors are responsible for keeping their assigned rooms clean and sanitized. Instructors must be familiar with schedule lessons prior to entering class. Instructors must report progress and grades for each student after the completion of each lesson. Design learning objectives, prepare and deliver lessons to effectively meet students’ various learning styles. Strong commitment to making the profession stronger by promoting a professional, respectful and upbeat environment, where students will thrive under their direction. Ability to multitask and stay on top of weekly/daily/ monthly educational goals and academic calendar to ensure student success. Adhere to a well-structured lesson plan and present, update and implement curriculum by instructing new advancements. Ability to maintain regular, reliable attendance which adheres to assigned work schedule including proper log in/log out for time recording. Track, monitor and report student attendance and grades. Accurately maintain program and student records. Establish and communicate clear objectives for daily lessons, units and projects.
