Esthetics Instructor 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Elgin, SC 29045 An Esthetics Instructor teaches the theory and practice of esthetics to those who wish to become Licensed Estheticians by the state board. They train students to apply makeup and perform facials, tweeze and wax unwanted hair, and give body treatments in preparation for the licensing exam. Licensed Instructors must be well versed in the Milady Curriculum for an Esthetician – as well as state licensing examinations for theory and practical testing. To prepare students to become skilled Estheticians, Esthetics Instructors must have extensive, first-hand knowledge in proper hygiene, sanitation and safety practices required for successful cosmetology practices. They must be able to teach esthetics theory with a well-designed curriculum and lesson plan format as well as successfully demonstrating techniques on live models. An Esthetics Instructor should have excellent communication and organization skills and be able to appropriately assess students’ progress and take necessary steps to ensure their complete and effective education.
Requirements Public Speaking Skills:
to include being comfortable speaking on a mic and operating technology in the classroom.
Initiative:
Taking the necessary steps independently to enter academic grades and labs in a timely manner in the SMART system; Assist students in making up exams, as applicable, and ensuring successful completion.
Lab Demonstrations:
to include following the SEHWI-specific protocols and teaching in sequence through demonstration and lecture/proper explanation.
Patience & Empathy:
Having the necessary discernment for classroom situations and the handling of personalities; Delivering communication and handling issues with patience and a caring attitude.
Protocols & Processes:
Making oneself familiar with the Student Catalog and Standard Operating Procedures at SEHWI and sharing/teaching this information accordingly.
