CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

(18+ to play younger)
AVA, 22y/o female, soprano. ACT 2 protagonist. Loyal, friendly, pulsive, lonely. Moony’s closest friend, despite having only known each other for about five weeks. Is in a bigger body, and while seemingly more optimistic than Moony, deals with a deeper sense of self-loathing. The only one who hasn’t gone to any in-patient program.
MAX, 23y/o female, alto. Serious, determined and snarky. Moony’s so-called ‘nemesis.’ Has been in group therapy longer than anyone else, and was sent to in-patient once•the only one who verbally expresses interest in achieving recovery.
BEE, 15y/o female, soprano. Intelligent, innocent, often engrossed in a book. The youngest member of this group, somewhat ‘cared for’ by Moony and Ava. In a smaller body•petite, and her disordered eating is tied to her perfectionist attitude. Also plays MRS. WILLIAMS, 50y/o female, soprano. Ava’s mom. Butts heads with Ava, and doesn’t understand theplexity of eating disorders.
HONOR, 21y/o female, mezzo-soprano. Obsessive, mitted, sassy. Has been in and out of countless residential programs since adolescence, causing a fair amount of social ineptitude. She has no interest in recovery.
DOC, mid 30s, female, mezzo-soprano. The group’s therapist. Peppy, but strict. Is deeply invested in the recovery of these girls, rule follower. Also plays

AUNT SARAH

(VOICE ONLY), Moony’s aunt and only surviving relative. Older, slightly overbearing, but well-meaning. Calls from time to time to check in. Also plays
