MISS
JULIE/VANDA JORDAN
Miss Julie is headstrong, impulsive, and defies the societal norms of her time. Her upbringing, particularly her mother’s influence, has instilled in her a hatred of men and a rejection of traditional female roles. Vanda is chameleon able to seamlessly shift between different identities, from brash 21st century actress to 19th century aristocrat to goddess.
JEAN/THOMAS NOVACHEK
Jean is a “new man” of the late Victorian age, filled with ambition, cunning, class envy, cruelty and the ability to shift allegiances easily. Thomas is a playwright forced to confront of his own desires, his assumptions about his play, and his understanding of female power and sexuality.

The Count’s cook, her loyalty to the social order of her time is intertwined with jealousy. Savvy. Stronger and more perceptive than anyone realizes. First rehearsal 9/22

MISS JULIE
•a power struggle of sex and class leads to a destructive affair between an aristocratic woman and her father’s valet, Jean, on Midsummer’s Eve.
VENUS IN FUR
•a power struggle between a writer and an actress that uses as its weapons sexuality, domination, and submission, all while blurring the line between reality and performance.
