Seamstress Qualifications:

Experience in sewing, general alterations. Knowledge of garment construction techniques and fabric types. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow patterns and specifications accurately Polite and efficient. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to sewing tasks. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation:

$20.00 per hour Profit , percentage of alterations/tailoring work. Monday through Saturday operations (flexible) Job description/Job Summary Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented tailor/seamstress to join our team. Based in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn inside of Fort Hamilton Army base. Relaxed, professional, climate controlled environment. Clients will be requesting general alterations to uniforms, patch installation, personal items, and general garment repair. Responsibilities

• Operate sewing machine.
• Perform alterations and repairs on existing garments, ensuring fit to customer’s specifications and request.
• Utilize basic math to measure, cut, and sew fabric accurately.
• Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available.
• Intake and distribute prepared dry cleaning & laundry for off site processing. Experience
• Experience in sewing, preferably in a fashion retail or garment production environment.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow patterns and specifications accurately.
• Polite and efficient
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to sewing tasks.
