DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finisher to join a dynamic team within a high-quality boat manufacturing environment. This role is essential in delivering top-tier craftsmanship and impeccable finishing to enhance both the performance and appearance of marine vessels. The ideal candidate is experienced in working with various boat materials and coatings and thrives in a hands-on, detail-focused role. RESPONSIBILITIES
Sand, buff, and smooth surfaces of boats to prepare for painting or finishing, eliminating imperfections such as scratches or blemishes. Apply gel coat, varnish, and other protective coatings, ensuring uniform application and proper curing. Install final components including trims, railings, cleats, and hardware, ensuring secure and quality fitment. Conduct visual and tactile inspections on finished products to verify compliance with specifications and industry standards. Polish and clean both the exterior and interior surfaces to achieve a high-gloss, showroom-ready finish. Operate finishing tools such as grinders, sprayers, and sanders, maintaining them in safe, working condition. Collaborate with the team to meet production timelines and quality benchmarks.
REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated experience as a finisher within the marine, automotive, or fiberglass manufacturing industries. Strong understanding of gel coat, varnishes, and other marine-grade finishes. Proficiency in sanding, buffing, and polishing techniques. Familiarity with materials such as fiberglass, composite, and wood. Ability to read and follow technical instructions and production specifications. High attention to detail with a quality-driven mindset. Team-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in tight spaces for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 25 pounds independently.
