Snellville, GA 30039 Overview Ster North America is a leading manufacturer of innovative seating solutions for public transportation. As part of our growing team, we are looking for a skilled Upholsterer to support production at various stages – from gluing and stapling to fabric cutting and performing quality control. This role involves working with various materials and techniques to create high-quality finished products. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, flexibility, and craftsmanship. The Upholsterer will utilize both power and hand tools to ensure precision and quality in every piece.
Key Responsibilities:
Gluing and Upholstering:
Apply adhesives and staples to secure upholstery materials, according to specifications and design requirements, ensuring durability and comfort for seating in buses.
Cutting Materials:
Operate cutting machines to accurately cut upholstery materials according to specifications and design requirements.
Quality Control:
Conduct thorough inspections of completed upholstery work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
Detailed Customized Work:
Perform specialized tasks such as creating drain holes and other custom features to enhance passenger comfort and functionality.
Maintain Work Area:
Keep the workspace organized and clean, adhering to safety protocols and efficient work practices. Qualifications Proven experience as an Upholsterer or in a similar role is preferred. Proficient in the use of power tools, hand tools, strong skills in gluing, stapling, and handling various upholstery materials. Knowledge of various upholstery materials, fabrics, foams and techniques. Attention to detail and strong commitment to quality control. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
