Overview
The pay range for this position ranges from $27.30/hr
- $28.35/hr.
This is a mid-level experience position to work in the Tinsmith Trade.
Applicants will be assigned any Tinsmith trade function with limited assistance from a more experienced Tinsmith, including (but not limited to): - Fabrication of items made from sheet metal, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum such as hull outfit foundations, lockers, bunks, shelving, ventilation, guards, tables, counter tops, racks, etc, using fabrication sketches and drawings.
- Installing items on units or on ships including (but not limited to): shelving, ventilation, guards tables, racks and countertops, layout and install hull outfit foundations, curtain plate and deck shoe, joiner bulkheads etc., using blue prints.
- Fabricating and installing main engine and generator exhaust and intakes using fabrication sketches and drawings.
Responsibilities
Preferred:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year Technical or Vocational training in tinsmith or carpentry trade
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 1 year experience in metals fabrication or installation.
Must be able to read blueprints in detail.
Must have experience working with sheet metal, hand tools, and power tools.
Must be able to read a tape measure, and demonstrated ability to perform complex layout with assistance.
Must meet the requirements of the Tinsmith physical task analysis.
