The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment by using a hands-on approach, answering questions, and providing limited Q&A support after each class. This role requires a commitment to our mission, which is to provide equitable and affordable access to tools and skills to everyone in the community. We are looking specifically for instructors to teach the following courses: Masonry

• Brick and Mortar Repair, All About Concrete, Pavers-Patios-Pathways Roofing
• Safety/Flashing/Patching Door/Window Installation
• New construction and restoration Painting/Drywall Finishing Plaster & Lath Work Metalworking/Knifemaking Gardening/Horticulture Furniture Repair/Restoration/Upholstery Pallet Wood Projects A DIY Guide to Home Insulation Cabinets
• Installation, DIY building, Painting/Finishing DIY Rain Barrels, Greywater Basics, Solar/Composting for DIYers HVAC
• thermostats, A/C units, radiators, furnaces, boilers Applicants MUST have previous teaching experience, within the trades or in an educational setting. Responsibilities Full compliance with WPTL workshop safety protocols
• ensuring all staff and students remain safe on-site and develop safety-first habits. Safety is the first priority at WPTL. Foster open forum learning
• where everyone is welcome regardless of their background or current skill level.

Follow existing lesson plans per existing curriculum standards and meet the diverse needs of students. Create an engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes critical thinking. Utilize student feedback and experience over time to continuously improve curriculum and/or create new classes to address changing/new interests. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in one or more of the trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, tiling, roofing, bricklaying, window/door installation, flooring installation, welding, automotive repair, interior design, CAD drafting, sewing, screen printing, electronics repair, gardening, agriculture or applicable to the list above) 1+ years of teaching experience, either training within the professional workplace/trades, or in an educational setting. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students and staff Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Proficiency in classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment. Passion for giving back to the local community and promoting the share economy
