Veterinary Assistant Spring Hill Animal Clinic 4610 Spring Hill Ave, Mobile, AL 36608 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and the ability to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to cats and dogs. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for both animals and staff. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Provide basic care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Prepare and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian. Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures. Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments. Monitor animal behavior and report any changes to the veterinary team. Ensure cleanliness of the clinic, including equipment sterilization and facility maintenance. Educate pet owners on proper care and nutrition for their animals. Maintain professional communication skills and presentation. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge: Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a related role is preferred. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices. Knowledge of pet care best practices and animal handling techniques. Proficiency in aseptic technique to ensure safety during medical procedures. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
