Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist Britt Road Animal Hospital Mount Dora, FL 32757 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Assistant-Receptionist to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks; in addition providing excellent medical care and attention. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic and the well-being of our animal patients. Duties Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care. Maintain accurate patient records and update client information in the system. Process payments and handle billing inquiries with professionalism. Assist veterinary staff with administrative tasks as needed, including preparing examination rooms. Provide information on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures to clients. Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality patient care and client satisfaction. Administer medications under the supervision of a veterinarian. Follow through on treatment plans, including phlebotomy, Intensive care, post surgical monitoring, etc under the supervision of a veterinarian. Skills Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology to effectively communicate with clients and staff. Familiarity with animal husbandry practices and veterinary critical care procedures. Experience in a kennel or veterinary clinic setting is preferred. Ability to handle animals safely and perform basic animal restraint techniques. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients empathetically. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
