Pay Range:

$17-$25/hour (commensurate with veterinary experience)

What You’ll Do:

You’ll play a key role in supporting our emergency and critical care teams—helping deliver high-quality care when pets (and their people) need it most. Assist veterinarians and licensed technicians with emergency triage, urgent procedures, treatments, and surgery prep Provide skilled handling and restraint for critically ill, injured, or fractious patients Perform and support diagnostics: venipuncture, in-house lab work, radiographs, fecals, urinalysis, etc.

Administer medications:

oral, IM, SQ, and IV Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgical procedures, including induction and recovery Observe, monitor, and chart vitals and behavior of hospitalized patients overnight Maintain cleanliness, stock supplies, and support shift transitions Deliver excellent communication and client education when needed, including discharge instructions ✅

What You’ll Bring:

Minimum 2+ years of veterinary experience , preferably in emergency, critical care, or specialty settings Proficient in patient restraint, IV catheter placement, blood draws, and emergency protocols Familiarity with anesthetic monitoring , surgical assisting, and post-op recovery protocols Comfort and competence in performing diagnostics (Idexx/Heska labs, fecals, urinalysis, cytology, etc.) Experience using veterinary software (PIMS) and medical recordkeeping systems Ability to stay focused and calm under pressure, especially during trauma cases or overnight surges A strong sense of initiative, accountability, and teamwork Flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays , on a rotating basis

About Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Niceville Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Niceville is a growing emergency veterinary care facility providing exceptional veterinary care in the Northwest Florida Panhandle. Our sister practice in Destin grew so much, we opened our flagship location in Niceville in 1995. We were created by area veterinarians to fill the after-hour and critical care needs of their patients, and we continue to serve that capacity for the entire region with two locations.
