Veterinary Assistant Ocoee Vet PVS Ocoee, FL 34761 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to pets and other animals. This role involves working closely with both animals and their owners, ensuring a positive experience for all. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including treatment areas, kennels, and waiting rooms. Perform basic animal care tasks such as feeding, bathing, and exercising animals. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Prepare animals for surgery by following aseptic techniques and protocols. Assist with kennel duties, including cleaning and sanitizing kennels, as well as monitoring the health of boarded animals. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and care instructions. Skills Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or similar environment is preferred. Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures. Strong skills in animal handling, ensuring the safety of both animals and staff. Familiarity with animal husbandry practices to promote optimal health and well-being of animals. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
