Previous veterinary experience is not required. Salary starts at $17.00 per hour, however, compensation is determined by the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to process payments (credit, cash, e-pay)
• Knowledge of veterinary pharmacology, including preventatives
• Knowledge of common vaccination protocols for dogs and cats
• Proficient in basic animal handing and restraint techniques
• Understanding of dog and cat behavior
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Gmail, and Microsoft Word preferred

Responsibilities:

Greet clients and their pets and complete the appointment sign in process which can include: Using our practice management software, confirming services and assessing previous records, and managing patient lobby. Performs general veterinary nursing duties including but not limited to, patient handling, administering vaccines, veinipuncture, and wound care. Assisting doctor and nursing staff in ordering up medications for patients, dispensing preventatives, creating drug labels and filling medications. Performing general veterinary nursing duties including but not limited to, patient handling, administering vaccines, veinipuncture, and wound care. Assist clients with the check-out process including but not limited to; confirming services performed, completion of all necessary paperwork including Pinellas County Rabies licensing, collecting payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments Answering phone calls inquiring about our services, appointment scheduling, and answering questions about our wellness and spay neuter programs Placing calls to clients and communicating via email or the communication platfrom within our software system. REQUIRED

. Preference will be given to those with high volume experience. We are currently looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist with hours Monday through Friday with a rotating Saturday Shift.
