Veterinary Technician /Assistant Bridgemill Animal Hospital Canton, GA 30114 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, performing laboratory tests, and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess relevant skills in veterinary terminology and animal husbandry. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and providing necessary tools. Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing animals for surgery. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis, ensuring accurate results are recorded. Provide basic grooming services to pets, including bathing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals’ health, treatment plans, and post-care instructions. Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology for documentation purposes. Handle dogs and other animals safely to minimize stress during visits. Requirements Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Knowledge of veterinary terminology is highly desirable. Familiarity with animal husbandry practices is a plus. Ability to handle various breeds of dogs and cats safely and comfortably. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary practices and procedures. Our team rotates Saturday shifts.
