Job Summary:

Beyond Pets Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Junior Nurse Lead to join our growing nursing team. This role is ideal for a skilled Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Nurse with a passion for leadership and maintaining high standards of patient care. The Junior Nurse Lead will play a crucial role in daily operations by reconciling inventory and working closely with the Nurse Lead to ensure the nursing team adheres to proper training and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

Oversee and reconcile veterinary supplies and medication inventory, ensuring stock levels are maintained and expired items are handled appropriately. This is only one part of our inventory process, but it’s an essential part.

Team Collaboration and Protocol Adherence:

Collaborate directly with the Nurse Lead to implement and monitor adherence to all nursing protocols and training programs.

Staff Mentorship:

Assist in the guidance and development of veterinary assistants and other nursing staff, fostering a positive and proficient team environment.

Quality Assurance:

Support the Nurse Lead in ensuring that the nursing team consistently meets the highest standards of veterinary care and patient safety.

Clinical Support:

Perform veterinary assistant or nursing duties as needed, including patient handling and restraint, assisting in examinations and procedures, and client communication.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and detailed records related to inventory and staff training.

Qualifications:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the veterinary industry as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Nurse. Proven experience in managing or supervising veterinary assistants or a similar team. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, procedures, and best practices. Excellent organizational and inventory management skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to guide and motivate team members. Commitment to upholding high standards of patient care and hospital protocols.
