Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Veterinary Assistant and Kennel Technician. This dual role is the backbone of our hospital, ensuring the comfort and well-being of the pets in our care, both our clients’ cherished companions and the rescue animals we serve. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for animals, a strong work ethic, and a desire to grow within the veterinary field. No prior professional experience? No problem. We are looking for potential and passion. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities): Provide compassionate daily care for our boarding and hospitalized animals, including feeding, watering, and ensuring clean and comfortable living spaces. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout our kennel area, treatment rooms, and the entire hospital. Carefully monitor the health and behavior of all animals and promptly report any changes or concerns to our veterinary technicians and veterinarians. Assist our veterinary team with gentle animal restraint, basic procedures, and the administration of medications as directed. Provide essential enrichment for our boarding pets through exercise, socialization, and play. Perform basic grooming tasks, such as bathing and brushing, to keep our patients feeling their best. Manage our boarding guests’ check-in and check-out process with a friendly and professional demeanor. Communicate with pet owners, providing them with reassuring updates on their furry family members. Uphold our rigorous safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for every animal in our care. What You’ll Bring (Qualifications): A high school diploma or equivalent. A genuine and evident passion for animal welfare. A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset. The ability to remain calm and compassionate in a fast-paced environment. Strong observational and communication skills. The physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods. A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Previous experience with animals is a plus, but a strong desire to learn is essential.
