Job Description
Veterinary Technician/ Assistant 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars 2632 Loganville Highway, Grayson, GA 30017 We are currently searching for a part-time or full-time veterinary assistant/technician. Previous experience preferred but not required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: surgical assistance, anesthesia monitoring, digital radiology, operating in-house blood analyzer, collection and running routine laboratory procedures, administration of medications (oral and injectable), and assisting doctor with examinations. Additionally, candidate must be available on Saturdays (8-12), weekend treatments, and some holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and wound care
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Take and develop X-rays
- Perform animal catheterization and fluid therapy
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Monitor animal vital signs and provide veterinary critical care as needed
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress
- Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications:
- Certification or degree in veterinary technology or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and laboratory procedures
- Experience in dog training and handling is preferred
- Proficiency in X-ray techniques and interpretation
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and fluid therapy
- Excellent animal restraint skills to ensure the safety of both animals and staff
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Effective communication skills to interact with veterinarians, staff, and pet owners As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care to our animal patients.
