Veterinary Technician/ Assistant Position Available In Gwinnett, Georgia

Veterinary Technician/ Assistant 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars 2632 Loganville Highway, Grayson, GA 30017 We are currently searching for a part-time or full-time veterinary assistant/technician. Previous experience preferred but not required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: surgical assistance, anesthesia monitoring, digital radiology, operating in-house blood analyzer, collection and running routine laboratory procedures, administration of medications (oral and injectable), and assisting doctor with examinations. Additionally, candidate must be available on Saturdays (8-12), weekend treatments, and some holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
• Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and wound care
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
• Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
• Take and develop X-rays
• Perform animal catheterization and fluid therapy
• Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
• Monitor animal vital signs and provide veterinary critical care as needed
• Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress
• Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain a clean work environment

Qualifications:

• Certification or degree in veterinary technology or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and laboratory procedures
• Experience in dog training and handling is preferred
• Proficiency in X-ray techniques and interpretation
• Ability to perform animal catheterization and fluid therapy
• Excellent animal restraint skills to ensure the safety of both animals and staff
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
