Job Description

Veterinary Assistant/Technician Wayside Animal Hospital 99 Cove Rd, Jasper, GA 30143

Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional care and assistance to veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments. Assist in restraining and handling animals with compassion and skill. Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, nail trims, and dental cleanings under supervision. Maintain cleanliness and organization in exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites. Handle client inquiries and provide clear, concise information regarding pet care and hospital services. Manage medical records accurately and ensure proper documentation of patient history and treatments. Monitor and record vital signs of animals, alerting veterinarians to any abnormalities. Assist in laboratory procedures, including sample collection and analysis. Perform routine maintenance on medical equipment and report any malfunctions promptly. Participate in continuous learning and stay updated on veterinary best practices and protocols. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, supporting colleagues in various tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and aseptic technique
  • Experience in animal handling and care
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures and sample collection
  • Ability to handle and work with a variety of animals, including dogs and cats
