In this role, you will provide essential support in the care and treatment of animals while ensuring their comfort and well-being. As a Veterinary Nurse, you will work closely with veterinarians and other staff to deliver high-quality medical care and assist in various procedures. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures. Perform laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics. Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the veterinary facility, adhering to aseptic techniques. Participate in dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures as needed. Support animal husbandry practices by providing appropriate care for various species. Skills The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology. Proficiency in laboratory techniques relevant to veterinary medicine. Experience in animal handling, including dog handling skills. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures. Ability to perform aseptic techniques effectively. Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members. Compassionate approach towards animal care with a focus on patient comfort.
