Veterinary Support Associate Perry County Veterinary Hospital Perryville, MO 63775 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This role involves assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality medical care to pets, ensuring their comfort and safety during visits. Duties Assist in restraining animals during examinations and procedures to ensure their safety and the safety of staff. Provide basic pet care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including treatment areas, exam rooms, and waiting areas. Support front desk operations by greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records. Help with animal husbandry tasks such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with diagnostic tests. Utilize knowledge of animal anatomy to assist in procedures such as catheterization and other veterinary tasks. Follow aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during surgical procedures. Experience Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and dog handling is highly desirable. Knowledge of animal anatomy and basic veterinary procedures is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with both animals and their owners are essential for success in this role.
