Veterinary Assistant | Full-Time | Canton, NC Are you passionate about animals, love working with people, and want to grow in a supportive, tight-knit veterinary team? Canton Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our crew! We’re a small animal practice nestled in beautiful Canton, North Carolina —just 30 minutes west of Asheville and 20 minutes from Waynesville. Our community offers the charm of small-town life with the convenience of nearby cities, mountains, and outdoor adventures.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll play a vital role in supporting our patients and clients through every step of their care.
Your day-to-day may include:
Taking patient histories and updating medical records Performing basic patient care (nail trims, blood draws, injections, etc.) Monitoring anesthesia and assisting in dental cleanings Running in-house lab tests Educating clients and delivering compassionate customer service Answering phones and scheduling appointments
Who You Are:
We’re looking for someone who: Is experienced in handling dogs and cats (1+ year preferred) Stays calm, confident, and kind under pressure Can multitask with a smile and keep a positive attitude Takes initiative and works well as part of a team Shows up ready to learn and grow each day
Schedule:
Monday to
Friday:
8:20 AM – 5:30 PM Some weekend rotations required for the care of hospitalized or boarding pets (no regular weekend shifts!)
Compensation & Perks:
