This position involves assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in the daily care of animals, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining a clean and safe environment. In addition, you will be utilized as a Veterinary Assistant when your animal care duties have been completed. Duties Assist with the daily care of animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff during examinations and procedures. Maintain cleanliness of animal housing areas, including kennels and cages. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist in administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians or technicians. Support veterinary procedures such as animal catheterization and basic laboratory tasks. Provide comfort and companionship to animals during their stay at the facility. Help maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for animal care. Qualifications Knowledge of animal anatomy and handling techniques is essential. Experience in a veterinary clinic/hospital setting is required for this particular position. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is a plus.
