We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, performing laboratory tests, and ensuring the comfort and safety of our animal patients. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animal care and have a strong desire to work in a veterinary environment. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals. Perform laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian. Prepare animals for surgery, including catheterization and monitoring vital signs. Provide post-operative care and education to pet owners regarding home care. Maintain cleanliness of the clinic, including kennels, examination rooms, and surgical areas. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ health and treatment plans. Requirements Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology. Experience with animal restraint techniques and dog handling skills. Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine. Ability to perform IV catheterization when necessary. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare. Must be able to lift heavy animals when necessary and stand for extended periods.
