Veterinary Technician/Assistant Caring Hands Animal Hospital 121 North Boulevard, Clinton, NC 28328
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to assist in providing high-quality veterinary services.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of patients
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Experience:
The following skills and experience are required or preferred for this position:
- Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy
- Experience in dog handling and training
- Familiarity with kennel operations
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques
- Equine experience is a plus
