In 2021, we evolved into IAC Urgent Vets , shifting from general practice to urgent and emergency care to meet the needs of a growing and more complex patient population. We’re now open 7 days a week from 2 PM to 12 AM , with expanded 24-hour coverage from Thursday through Sunday to support pets and pet parents across NYC and the tri-state area—day or night. So Much More Than Just Helping Hands At IAC Urgent Vets, Veterinary Assistants are an essential part of our medical team. You’re not just here to observe—you’re trained, trusted, and empowered to be hands-on in nearly every aspect of patient care. You’ll learn to: Triage patients thoroughly and confidently on arrival Handle a wide range of cases—from wellness exams and routine visits to trauma, toxicity, and critical emergencies Work alongside veterinarians and LVTs to provide top-tier medical care in real-time Comfort clients and patients in high-stress moments, with empathy and clarity Prep patients for surgery, monitor recoveries, and assist in the ICU Operate and assist with advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies , including ultrasound, digital radiography, and IDEXX in-house lab systems We’re proud to train our Veterinary Assistants in: Emergency protocols and code responses Processing and evaluating blood, urine, and fecal samples Reading basic cytology Administering medications, fluids, and treatments Maintaining and using high-end medical equipment, including ventilators, Snyder ICU units, Ligasure, and more Every shift brings new learning opportunities—from helping stabilize a hit-by-car patient to prepping a surgery or fine-tuning treatment plans with the rest of the team. Tech You’ll Be Trained On:

What We’re Looking For:
At least 1 year of experience preferred—but we’ll train the right candidate Comfortable in a fast-paced environment Energetic, detail-oriented, and compassionate A team player with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
