Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist All Saints Animal Hospital 645 Rossville Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309

Veterinary Assistant Duties:

• Greet and welcome clients and their pets to the veterinary clinic
• Assist Veterinarian in exam rooms and use Veterinary software to document medical notes.
• Fill precriptions and review directions with clients
• Provide compassionate patient care while demonstrating proper and safe restaraint techniques
• Assist in performing diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs
• Treatments of hospitalized patients
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments for veterinary services
• Collect and update client information, including medical history of pets
• Assist with filling out necessary paperwork and forms
• Provide excellent customer service and address client inquiries or concerns
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hospital
• Coordinate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth flow of appointments and procedures
• Process payments for services rendered

Skills:

• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
• Familiarity with exotic (other than cats/dogs) care is a plus
• Proficiency in using aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and veterinary staff
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
• Knowledge of veterinary critical care is desirable but not required
