$17.00 – $20.00 / hour Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care as a Veterinary Behavior Assistant. This role involves working closely with our veterinary behaviorist to support the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of behavioral issues in animals. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in animal behavior, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for improving the well-being of animals.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Caring for our Boarding animals Cleaning, laundry and basic clinic up keep Patient handling and restraint Medication administration & filling prescriptions Assisting our Technicians and our Veterinarian as needed Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!) Skills Knowledge and Expertise High school diploma or GED required Preferred 1-3 years of veterinary medicine experience Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It’s okay if you talk to animals, too!) Comfortable working in a fast paced environment Proficient with computers (emailing, taking notes, reviewing/writing medical records) Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases Preferred but not required: -Fear Free trained / certified Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision insurance Employee discounts Flexible schedules 401K with company match Career development and training
