Summary As a Veterinary Room Assistant at Limerick Veterinary Hospital, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinary team in delivering high-quality care to animals. This position is essential for maintaining the well-being of our patients and enhancing the overall efficiency of our veterinary services. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Handle and restrain animals safely to ensure their comfort and safety during treatments. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment in an aseptic manner. Perform laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays. Provide compassionate care to animals in the hospital, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kennel area and treatment rooms. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and treatments. Support the veterinary team in administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications assistance is preferred. Strong knowledge of animal care practices and procedures. Familiarity with laboratory techniques and diagnostic equipment is a plus. Ability to safely restrain animals and manage their behavior effectively. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
