Veterinary Assistant/Technician Trinity Ridge Animal Health 5583 Highway 76 W, Laurens, SC 29360 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, providing support to veterinarians and ensuring the comfort and safety of our animal patients. This role involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall health and well-being of animals in our care. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Provide basic nursing care to animals, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs. Prepare animals for surgery by ensuring they are properly anesthetized and positioned. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including sterilizing equipment and managing supplies. Perform laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis. Provide pet care services, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animal’s health and treatment plans. Requirements Previous experience in a veterinary setting or related field is preferred but not required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus. Familiarity with animal husbandry practices and pet care essentials. Skills in veterinary critical care or laboratory work are advantageous. Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately, including equine experience if applicable. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
