Responsibilities Their main role is to ensure smooth operations and satisfaction for both the pet owners and the veterinary staff. Veterinary Receptionists have the following duties and responsibilities: Greet and welcome pet owners and their pets upon arrival in the clinic Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, or direct calls appropriately Book appointments and manage the clinic’s schedule Keep patient records updated, including information about vaccinations, treatments, and any other veterinary care the animal has received Handle payments for veterinary services, process transactions, and issue receipts Assist pet owners with any necessary paperwork, such as insurance claims Provide information to pet owners about the clinic’s services, products, and policies Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area Work closely with the veterinary staff to ensure smooth communication and operations Handle sensitive situations, such as distressed pets or pet owners, with empathy and professionalism Requirements Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with computerized record-keeping systems. Avimark experience is a plus. Experience in cash handling is a plus. A genuine passion for animals and the people that love them. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
