Veterinary Assistant/Technician Position Available In Bradley, Tennessee

Veterinary Assistant/Technician Dixie Day Spay 182 Airport Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37312 This posting is for veterinary assistants at a high volume spay/neuter and vaccine clinic. This is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday (no weekends) 7:30AM to 3:30PM. Experience preferred but we will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities include:

Animal intake for surgery, monitoring patients in recovery as well as clinic cleaning Prep patients for surgery, collect samples, and administer medications The job requires significant lifting, squatting, and physical activity throughout the day Treat all animals in our care humanely at all times Handling and humanely restraining clinic animals Monitoring patients during recovery from anesthesia Intubation of patients Administration of medications, SQ fluids, flea medications, vaccines, etc. based on protocol Movement of animals during each stage of the surgical process especially from surgery to the recovery area to improve the efficiency of the process Adjusting monitoring and anesthesia equipment as needed and when directed Clean cages based on shelter cleaning protocol Ensure cages are clean at all times Wash dishes and do laundry (towels/bedding for animals) Give vaccinations to animals (under supervision) Maintain cleanliness in the clinic Observe and assess animals for illness Observe OSHA regulations Assist with vaccine clinics Assist with patient intake/discharge
