The Veterinary Assistant will assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in various tasks related to animal care and clinic operations. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing the necessary equipment and supplies. Provide basic care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising. Monitor animal health by observing behavior and reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including exam rooms, surgical areas, and waiting areas. Handle animals safely and compassionately during examinations and treatments. Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing and processing results. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, ensuring all information is up-to-date. Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to prevent infection. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of animal anatomy, husbandry, and handling techniques is essential. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
