Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist The Pet Care Center of Jackson South 2278 South Highland Avenue, Jackson, TN 38301 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service. Your passion for animal care and strong communication skills will help create a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. Duties Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere. Schedule appointments, and handle patient check-ins and check-outs. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and vaccination updates. Assist veterinarians with administrative tasks as needed, including preparing examination rooms. Provide information to clients regarding pet care, services offered, and medication administration. Process payments and manage billing inquiries efficiently. Answer phone calls and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area. Skills Knowledge of veterinary terminology to effectively communicate with clients and staff. Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for animals. Understanding of animal anatomy and physiology to assist in client education. Experience in animal handling to ensure the safety of both pets and staff during visits. Background as a veterinary assistant or experience in a kennel setting is advantageous. Proficiency in laboratory procedures for basic testing may be required. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with clients and their pets.
