23326 Standifer’s Animal Clinic has been a strong part of the Homewood community since 1953. We are conveniently located in the heart of Homewood with many great local restaurants and within close driving distance to downtown Birmingham. We are a generational hospital, so many of our clients have been coming here since they were children when their parents and/or grandparents brought their pets to us for care. We aim to form life-long relationships with our patients and our clients. We are currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician that has an interest in leadership, training and development! If you enjoy mentoring and teaching other LVTs and vet asisstants then this might be the position for you. today!

Position Skills:

Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms
Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals
Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members
Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring
Proficient in dental prophylaxis

Position Requirements:

Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
